Would I have a better chance in elite college applications if I were?
As a recruiter, my answer is that it absolutely worth mentioning. Any and every industry has subject-matter experts; and earning an audience and becoming an influencer is impressive in general. It's also something not very common, helping you to stand out as unique. My addition to that is that the amount of emphasis you give it should depend on what career path you might ultimately plan to follow. For example, if it is anything marketing related, you should be sure to not bury that on your resume. :) That being said, if you're applying for college (and might not even know what major you plan to declare) then it's safe to say that it's an impressive accomplishment, for sure. Way to go! :)
